Russia, Europe interested in fighting terrorism and drug trafficking, dealing with migration problems - EU ambassador
MOSCOW. Nov 9 (Interfax) - Russia and the EU both want to fight terrorism and drug trafficking, the Head of the EU Delegation to Russia, Marcus Ederer, said at the beginning of his meeting with the Federation Council Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman, Konstantin Kosachyov.
"I would admit that we have a number of interests where our views converge in terms of international matters: fighting terrorism, bringing stability to conflict-stricken regions, drugs, migration. All these are common interests," Ederer said.
"I think such relationships not based on naivety [...] would allow us to proceed pragmatically on areas of true interest," he said.
He said he does not believe in the idea that the other side is always a rival or an enemy.
