Trump not attending 1st event of APEC summit in Vietnam
DA NANG. Nov 10 (Interfax) - A meeting between the leaders of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies and members of the APEC Business Advisory Council has begun without U.S. President Donald Trump.
The APEC leaders who arrived at the summit were greeted by Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, after which they proceeded into a hall and started to take their seats in the presidium.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is in Vietnam for the APEC summit, entered the hall together with the Vietnamese president and China's President Xi Jinping.
After the leaders took their seats, the meeting with members of the APEC Business Advisory Council began.
Trump is not attending this meeting, the first event of the APEC summit in Da Nang, and his seat remains empty.
