Izhevsk residential building collapse occurred on 3rd floor - Investigative Committee

MOSCOW. Nov 10 (Interfax) - Experts have established the tentative source of the collapse in a residential building in Izhevsk as originating on the third floor, Russian Investigative Committee spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko told Interfax.

"The tentative epicenter of the incident has been established, [it is] a flat on the third floor," she said.

Petrenko confirmed that the main theory of the building's collapse in Izhevsk is gas combustion.

A corner section from the first to the ninth floor of a residential nine-story building on 261 Udmurtskaya Street in Izhevsk collapsed on Thursday. Six people were killed. Five injured people, one of whom remains hospitalized, were reported.
