There is reason to believe Russia, Turkey will manage to compensate for last year's trade drop - Putin

MOSCOW. Nov 13 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said he believes Moscow and Ankara will manage to compensate fully for last year's decline in trade, it will be restored by means of lifting mutual barriers, among other things.

"We have every reason to believe that we will manage to fully compensate for last year's decrease [in trade]. Such progress is largely linked to the consistent lifting of mutual trade barriers and restrictions," Putin said following negotiations with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Sochi on Monday.

Trade between Moscow and Ankara has grown 36% over the past nine months, the Russian president said.
