Russian, Argentine foreign ministers to hold negotiations on Thursday
MOSCOW. Nov 14 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet with Argentine counterpart Jorge Faurie on Thursday to discuss topical global affairs and the possibility of bolstering bilateral cooperation in international platforms, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website on Tuesday.
"Lavrov and Faurie will address topical items on the world agenda, including joint efforts in strengthening the central and coordinating role of the United Nations in global affairs, multilateral diplomacy, the supremacy of international law, and interaction in suppression of new threats and challenges. There are plans to discuss the possibility of bolstering Russian-Argentine cooperation on international platforms, such as the UN, the WTO, and the G-20, in which Argentina will preside in 2018," the statement said.
The diplomats are also set to "confer on further development of the entire range of ties between Russia and Argentina, and ways of strengthening political dialogue, expanding bilateral trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, and broadening interaction in global and regional affairs," the statement said.
