Russian, Singaporean PMs agree to speed up preparation of FTA agreement

MANILA. Nov 14 (Interfax) - Russia's free-trade area agreement with Singapore is in a high state of readiness, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.

"As part of this visit, I discussed with the prime minister of Singapore problems relating to the preparation of another, new free-trade area agreement. We have agreed that we will speed up this work, because the agreement is in a fairly high stage of readiness," Medvedev said at a press conference in Manila.

The possibility of concluding such an agreement is also being discussed with other members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), he said. "I am not ruling out that at some point we will be able to prepare free-trade area agreements between the ASEAN economic community and the Eurasian Economic Union," Medvedev said.
