Russia, Turkey see 10 ceasefire breaches in Syria in past 24 hours

MOSCOW. Nov 15 (Interfax) - Russia and Turkey have observed five ceasefire violations in Syria each in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Russian members of the joint Russian-Turkish commission investigating ceasefire violations have recorded five shooting incidents in the provinces of Aleppo [2], Homs [1], Damascus [1], and Latakia [1]," the ministry said.

Turkey observed five violations in the Damascus province, it said.

"The situation in the de-escalation areas has been stable," it said.

Most cases of random small-arms fire were seen in the areas held by the Jabhat al-Nusra and ISIL terrorist organizations (both banned in Russia), the ministry said.
