Telegram-channels should be perceived with wisdom, irony - Peskov

MOSCOW. Nov 16 (Interfax) - The Kremlin has urged readers of Telegram-channels to "keep their wit and irony."

Such was the reaction of the Russian president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov to allegations on Telegram that Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has not ruled himself out of the race for presidency. The authors of these claims made such conclusions after Medvedev dodged a relevant question from a journalist a day earlier.

Peskov said he did not know how to answer this and whether Medvedev's nomination was ruled out. "I cannot answer your question, I don't know how to answer it. I am only urging you, when you read Telegram-channels, to preserve your wits, wisdom and irony," Peskov said.

"Dmitry Anatolyevich was asked, and he did answer this question," he said.

When asked the question, the prime minister laughed it off, saying that, "there are no elections this year."
