Decision on Hariri's resignation as Lebanese PM can be made only after his return home - foreign minister

MOSCOW. Nov 17 (Interfax) - Lebanon expects Prime Minister Saad Hariri to return to the country to endorse his resignation, Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Gebran Bassil said.

"What is most important to us is Prime Minister Saad Hariri's return to Lebanon without preconditions and restrictions of freedom so as to make a decision on his resignation," Bassil told journalists at a press conference on Friday.

"Stability in Lebanon should be preserved. We should neutralize those at home who are trying to upset the country's stability," he said.

"Prime Minister Hariri's return to Lebanon is the main precondition for stability in the country," he said.

"We want him to return as soon as possible," he said.
