Russian Emergency Situations Ministry, ICRC to set up permanent working group

GENEVA. Nov 23 (Interfax) - Russian Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Puchkov has proposed that a permanent working group be established by the ministry and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to bolster cooperation.

"Our working group accomplished some work at the ICRC Humanitarian Tech Hub yesterday, and the bilateral contacts established by representatives of Russia and your center have a very good future. I think we should set up a permanent working group, which would use the groundwork laid by the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry and the ICRC," Puchkov told ICRC President Peter Maurer at a meeting on Wednesday.

Maurer supported the idea.

He thanked Puchkov for humanitarian assistance to the self-proclaimed Donbas republics.
