Lukashenko praises Maduro's principled position as factor strengthening Venezuelan sovereignty
MINSK. Nov 23 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on his 55th birthday, mentioning his contribution to strengthening the sovereignty of Venezuela, which Belarus views as its strategic partner in Latin America.
"Your principled position in pursuing domestic and foreign policy makes a significant contribution to strengthening Venezuela's sovereignty and expanding its foreign trade relations," the presidential press service quoted Lukashenko as saying on Thursday.
Lukashenko said Belarus views Venezuela as its strategic partner in Latin America, the press service said.
"I am convinced that by combining our efforts, we can implement very soon the agreements that we have reached," Lukashenko said.
Lukashenko hopes that Belarus and Venezuela continue to develop their multifaceted relationship, the press service said.
