Kudrin says govt studying his proposals at Putin's instructions

MOSCOW. Nov 25 (Interfax) - Alexei Kudrin, head of the Center of Strategic Research and Committee of Civic Initiatives and former Russian finance minister, says President Vladimir Putin has instructed the government to analyze his proposals on Russia's development strategy.

"I reported the key provisions of our proposals on the country's development strategy to him. That primarily concerns the budget and tax policy and the need to increase the expenditures on education, healthcare, and the infrastructure," Kudrin told journalists when asked what Putin and he had discussed at their recent meeting.

Kudrin said he showed Putin how such expenditures could affect economic growth.

"He immediately instructed the government to study my proposals and report to him within a brief period of time," he said.
