Russian, S. Korean diplomats discuss paths to N.Korea settlement

MOSCOW. Nov 27 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov met with South Korean counterparts in Seoul to discuss ways to settle the situation on the Korean peninsula, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"Morgulov held consultations with the Republic of Korea's Deputy Foreign Minister Yoon Soon-gu and the Foreign Ministry's special representative for peace and security on the Korean peninsula, Lee Do-hoon," the ministry said in a statement on its website on Monday.

"They exchanged views on the current situation on the Korean peninsula and in the northeast Asian region with an emphasis on searching for ways to reach politico-diplomatic settlement of existing problems," the ministry said.

The parties also discussed the status and prospects of the bilateral relationship, including further trade and economic cooperation.
