Rusal considering issuing 'green' bonds
MOSCOW. Dec 1 (Interfax) - Rusal is considering placing "green" bonds, the Rusal director for strategy, business development and financial market Oleg Mukhamedshin said at a financial forum organized by newspaper Vedomosti.
"Green" bonds are Eurobonds placed with investors interested in company implementing environmentally friendly technology. Nornickel earlier announced plans to issue such bonds, considering it as one tool for financing the Sulfur Project, costing a total of $2.5 billion.
