One-of-a-kind parks to be built in Far East to attract tourists

MOSCOW. Dec 4 (Interfax) - Unique entertainment parks will be built in the Far East by new residents of the Free Port of Vladivostok in Primorye and Kamchatka.

The Far East Development Ministry said that the company STRATEG is committed to developing tourism in Primorye and is planning to build the "Park of the Peoples of the World", containing 20 core attractions, including venues for events, accommodation and recreation areas as well as a unique exhibition pavilion with exhibits of figures representing every country of the world. The opening of the park "for life and relaxation in harmony with nature," is scheduled for 2022.

"We are hoping for an offer of government support to implement such an interesting project which is so economically beneficial for Primorye. This is a major project, so we are really counting on the preferential conditions of the Free port of Vladivostok," LLC STRATEG CEO Oksana Ivanova was cited as saying in the statement.

Another new Free port of Vladivostok resident is planning to build hotel and tourism infrastructure in Primorye and Kamchatka. An agreement between JSC Far East Development Corporation (FEDC) and LLC TurPrimKam envisages the immediate construction of four facilities: a waterpark with a hotel and health spa in the city of Ussuriysk, a summer recreation center in the village of Shkotovo as well as a three-star hotel in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The resident hopes that the project will attract both Russian and foreign tourists.

"The most important thing is the preferential tax regime. The general taxation system is unwieldy for us at the moment. The second thing we are counting on is streamlined procurement of vacant land for construction next to our plots," Chairman of TurPrimKam Nikita Muravyev was cited as saying.
