IOC to lift all restrictions, sanctions from Russian Olympic Committee if 2018 Winter Olympics pass with no incidents, violations - Zhukov

MOSCOW. Dec 6 (Interfax) - The International Olympic Committee's (IOC) restrictions on Russian athletes will be lifted on the last day of the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea's PyeongChang if the games pass without incident, Russian Olympic Committee President Alexander Zhukov told journalists.

"If the Olympic Games proceed normally and there are no violations, the temporary suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee's membership will be lifted. One of the positive decisions is that doping-related sanctions and investigations against Russian athletes will be ceased from that moment," Zhukov said.
