Armenian Emergencies Ministry, Russian border guards to share info about natural, man-made disasters

YEREVAN. Dec 12 (Interfax) - The Armenian Emergency Situations Ministry and the Russian Federal Security Service's Border Directorate signed in Yerevan on Tuesday a cooperation plan based on their 1994 agreement on cooperation in the area of preventing man-made and natural disasters and responding to them.

The parties agreed to inform each other and share information on the threat or occurrence of natural or man-made disasters, hold joint drills, undertake emergency restoration and rescue efforts, and identify areas exposed to chemical, radioactive, and biological contamination, the Armenian Emergency Situations Ministry's press service reported.
