Bashneft allows for possibility that demands against AFK Sistema in new 131.6 bln ruble lawsuit could increase
MOSCOW. Dec 13 (Interfax) - Bashneft said that the amount of losses presented the new 131.6 billion ruble lawsuit against AFK Sistema could be increased.
"The amount of losses indicated was been determined at the date when the corresponding losses were inflicted and may be increase in the future following additional reports and assessments," the oil company said in a statement.
Rosneft and Bashneft have petitioned a court in Bashkortostan to recover 98.2 billion rubles in losses from AFK Sistema and 33.4 billion rubles from Sistema Invest.
"These losses were inflicted on Bashneft as a result of the unscrupulous and illegal actions of AFK Sistema and Sistema-Invest, expressed in the illegal withdrawal of funds from Bashneft under the pretext of dividends," the company said.
Consideration of the case is scheduled for January 12. According to court information, Rosneft and Bashneft are asking the court to make injunctions for the lawsuit.
"The amount of the lawsuit is the sum of dividends that the Defendants withdrew from Bashneft from 2009 through 2014, less taxes paid," Rosneft said.
Including the existing Rosneft and Bashneft lawsuit against Sistema for 170.1 billion rubles, which is currently at the appeal stage, the total amount of demands exceeds 300 billion rubles.
