Kazakhstan's population grew by 20,700 in Oct
ASTANA. Dec 13 (Interfax) - As of November 1, the population of Kazakhstan was 18.117 million people, as compared with 18.096 on October 1, the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of the National Economy said.
In January-October, the natural increase in population in Kazakhstan decreased by 17,400 to 217,700 people, while natural increase per 1,000 people was 14.49.
In the reporting period, 327,100 children were born, a 5.4% decrease year-on-year, and mortality stood at 109,300, a 0.8% decrease.
The Statistics Committee reported that in January-October, 118,690 marriages were registered in Kazakhstan (as compared with 119,681 in January-October 2016), and there were 45,461 divorces (43,513).
In the reporting period, 31,666 people emigrated from Kazakhstan, an increase of 7.2% year-on-year, and 13,374 people moved to the country (up 25.8%), creating a negative migration balance of 18,292 people.
