Avtovaz ships first batch of Lada Vesta cars to Cuba
IZHEVSK. Dec 16 (Interfax) - Avtovaz has exported the first shipment of 320 Lada Vesta cars to Cuba, Mikhail Ryabov, the general director of the Izhevsk Auto Plant incorporated in Avtovaz, told journalists on Saturday.
"Just as was planned, 320 cars" has been shipped to Cuba, Ryabov said at a Doors Open Day ceremony marking the release of the 5-millionth car by the Izhevsk Auto Plant.
"This was the first shipment. I think they'll perform very well, especially considering that we've always had good traditions with Cuba, and you know yourselves that quite a lot of our old classical-layout cars are still running there," he said.
Avtovaz specialists will monitor the reaction of the Cuban market, he said.
Lada Vesta cars are manufactured by the Izhevsk Auto Plant.
