Gudkov applies for Moscow mayor's permission to hold rally

MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - Opposition politician Dmitry Gudkov said he intends to hold a rally on Moscow's Sakharov Avenue on Sunday and has submitted an application to the mayor's office.

"I have just submitted a notification about the rally to the mayor's office," Gudkov wrote on Facebook.

The rally is expected to be held under the slogan "Fair and free elections," the opposition activist said. "Any elections in Russia, those of the president, governors, mayors, members of the parliament, should be fair and competitive, which means that all candidates should be allowed to run in them. That's what we will demand," Gudkov said.
