Private individual who has media outlet or Internet site and receives money from abroad can be classed as foreign agent media - Levin

MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - A private individual who has a media outlet or an Internet site can be classed as a foreign agent media, Leonid Levin, the head of the State Duma committee on information policy, information technologies and communications, told Interfax.

"A private individual who has a media outlet or an Internet site and receives money from abroad can be classed as a foreign agent media," Levin said on Tuesday.

Under the draft law, "such private individual will be required to create a legal entity in Russia," he said.

"A foreign media outlet or a private individual recognized as a foreign agent media in Russia has to create a legal entity, or it can be blocked under the proposed bill," Levin said.
