New Year presents to officials must comply with current regulations - Peskov
MOSCOW. Dec 20 (Interfax) - The receipt by officials of presents whose worth does not exceed the value stated in relevant documents is not a violation, Russian presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov said.
"As for New Year souvenirs, you know that there are regulations on that matter, they [states] the amounts of money that [the value of] souvenirs should not exceed," he told reporters.
"Everything that is within this regulation does not contradict any rules and norms," he said, responding to a question as to how the Kremlin feels about a situation where, according to media reports, officials with state companies have recently become afraid of accepting New Year presents and souvenirs and whether the presidential administration accepts New Year presents.
