Russia sees 8 ceasefire breaches in Syria, Turkey 4 in past 24 hours
MOSCOW. Dec 21 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia has seen eight ceasefire breaches in Syria in the past 24 hours, and Turkey has reported another four, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement posted on its website on Thursday.
"Russian members of the joint Russian-Turkish commission investigating ceasefire breaches have recorded eight violations," the ministry said.
The gunfire incidents were observed in the provinces of Aleppo (5), Latakia (1), and al-Quneitra (2), the ministry said.
Turkish members of the commission saw four shooting incidents in the provinces of Idlib (1), Hama (1), and Damascus (2), it said.
Ceasefire negotiations continued with armed opposition units in the provinces of Aleppo, Hama, Homs, Damascus, and al-Quneitra, the ministry said.
