Airborne Troops conduct about 400 command-staff, tactical drills in 2017 - commander
BALASHIKHA, Moscow region. Dec 23 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian Airborne Troops conducted about 40% of exercises in foreign countries in 2017, Airborne Troops Commander Col. Gen. Andrei Serdyukov said.
"The Russian Airborne Troops actively interacted with various countries as part of international cooperation. Joint exercises were conducted, over 60% of them took place in the territory of Russia and about 40% in the territories of allied states," Serdyukov said on Friday.
The Airborne Troops conducted about 400 command and staff and tactical exercises in total in 2017, he said.
The most active interaction is established with the Belarusian Armed Forces' Special Operations Force, Serdyukov said.
The Airborne Troops travelled to Armenia, Belarus, Tajikistan, and other countries to conduct joint maneuvers in 2017.
