Sochi residents remember victims of last year's plane crash

SOCHI. Dec 25 (Interfax) - Sochi residents have honored the memory of victims of the plane crash which happened on December 25, 2016.

"The remembrance event was attended by several hundred city residents," a spokesman for the Sochi administration told Interfax on Monday.

The event took place on the Adler embankment, he said.

"City residents commemorated the crash victims with a moment of silence, they lit candles, and dropped flowers into the sea," he said.

The Kalinka song performed by the Alexandrov Ensemble was played, the administration spokesman said.

A Russian Defense Ministry Tupolev Tu-154 plane en route for Syria crashed in the Sochi area early in the morning on December 25, 2016. The crash killed all the 92 people onboard, including eight crewmembers and 84 passengers.
