ASTANA. Dec 25 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan attaches great importance to development of comprehensive strategic partnership with China, Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov said.
"Kazakhstan attaches great importance to development of a comprehensive strategic partnership with China. We are content with the constructive cooperation and the high level of trust and good neighborliness," Abdrakhmanov said at the parliament's Government Hour dedicated to relations with Asian countries on Monday.
Kazakhstan views China as "one of the key foreign investors." Over the past ten years, China has invested over $14 billion in Kazakhstan, according to the minister.
"Our countries maintain an intensive high-level dialogue. Since Xi Jinping was elected president of China, he has visited Kazakhstan three times, and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has visited China five times in the same period," Abdrakhmanov said.
Today, China's geopolitical influence is growing and the country has great economic potential and extensive financial and technical capabilities, according to Abdrakhmanov.
