Russia is open for interparliamentary contacts with other countries despite known restrictions - Putin

MOSCOW. Dec 25 (Interfax) - Russia will not obstruct contacts at interparliamentary level with other countries despite known restrictions, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"It is important that despite known restrictions, including those related to the activities of representative bodies of power, these contacts are continuing," he said at a meeting with the leadership of both houses of the Russian Federal Assembly.

"We are not going to limit anything on our part, we stand ready and are open to these contacts and will work with all colleagues, who want to work together with us," he went on to say.

The head of state compared international activities pursued by parliamentarians of both houses to popular diplomacy.
