Ukraine didn't hand witness in downed Malaysian Boeing case over to Donbas - SBU head

KYIV. Dec 28 (Interfax) - Ukraine did not hand over to representatives of the self-proclaimed republics in the Wednesday exchange a witness in the case involving the Malaysian MH17 Boeing downed over Donbas in the summer of 2014, Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) head Vasyl Hrytsak said.

The self-proclaimed republics "stated a person who is indeed a witness in the downed Malaysian Boeing case," he said in an interview with Interfax, commenting on the information that a person related to the Boeing tragedy was on the exchange lists.

"Of course, we did not exchange that person. He remains here. We could not do that under any circumstances," Hrytsak said.

As reported, the Boeing 777 belonging to Malaysia Airlines flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) was shot down over Donbas on July 17, 2014. All 298 passengers and crewmembers on board were killed.
