Moscow hails direct contact between Pyongyang, Seoul - Peskov
MOSCOW. Jan 9 (Interfax) - The Kremlin hails direct contacts between representatives of North and South Koreas; this is the dialogue the Russian administration has been calling for, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
"Of course, we welcome the direct contact established between representatives of the two Koreas," Peskov said.
"We believe that this dialogue is the only way to ease tensions on the Korean Peninsula," he said.
"This is the dialogue the Russian administration has been unwaveringly calling for," Peskov said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly urged the creation of conditions for resuming a dialogue between Pyongyang and Seoul and called against any actions or steps which could prevent that from happening, Peskov said.
