Uzbekistan unveils hydrocarbons data for first time: oil production down 6.3%, gas up 0.5% in 2017

TASHKENT. Jan 12 (Interfax) - Uzbekistan has disclosed statistical data about hydrocarbons production for the first time.

The State Statistics Committee said in information about industrial development in 2017 that oil production fell 6.3 last year compared to 2016 to 806,000 tonnes and that gas production rose 0.5% to 56.417 billion cubic meters.

Uzbekistan produced 1.106 million tonnes of gasoline, down 2.5%, and 962,900 tonnes of diesel, down 4.5%. Coal production grew 4.4% to 4.038 million tonnes.

Electricity output rose 3% to 60 092 million kilowatt-hours.

Liquid hydrocarbons production data were included in a statistical publication for internal use until 2012. Oil and gas data were removed from that publication in the middle of 2012.
