Evraz ups Q4 steel output 1.4% to 3.5 mln tonnes, FY 3.8% to 14 mln tonnes
MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax) - Evraz Group raised steel output 1.4% quarter-on-quarter in Q4 2017 to 3.5 million tonnes, the company said in a trading update.
Output for the year grew 3.8% to 14 million tonnes.
Consolidated output of steel products, net of re-rolled volumes, rose by 5.7% quarter-on-quarter in Q4 2017 to 3.3 million tonnes, mainly due to higher steel product output at EVRAZ ZSMK amid planned capital repairs of blast furnace no. 2 in June and July.
Evraz said that at its North American division, Q1 2018, crude steel output is expected to rise slightly quarter-on-quarter. Tubular and construction products volumes are expected to grow by 5%-10%, flat-rolled products are expected to increase 5-10% due to a seasonal uptick in demand, and railway product volumes are expected to grow by 2%-5%.
