Fire from oil spill near Saratov spreads over 1,000 square meters; 4 buildings on fire - emergency ministry

MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax) - The area covered by a fire caused by an oil spill near Saratov has reached 1,000 square meters, the Central Regional Center of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry told Interfax

"Fire is over an area of about 1,000 square meters, three residential buildings and one non-residential are on fire," the center said.

Twelve people have been evacuated from the buildings, no one was hurt, the firefighting effort involves 65 personnel and 20 units of equipment.
