The young should be protected from evil without violating Internet freedom - Peskov
MOSCOW. Jan 19 (Interfax) - Recent incidents at Russian schools illustrate the need to continue the debate on what measures need to be taken to protect young people from negative information on the Internet without violating the principle of freedom of speech, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"Without a doubt, it is necessary to continue discussing what needs to be done to protect people, primarily the younger generation, from this evil without violating the principles of Internet freedom," Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters in response to a question as to whether legislative measures toughening control of the Internet might follow recent incidents in Russian schools.
Peskov also said that President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly spoken about this.
