All stable in Syria's de-escalation areas, 3 ceasefire breaches seen - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Jan 24 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian military have observed three ceasefire breaches in Syria in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said in an information bulletin.

"Russian members of the joint Russian-Turkish commission investigating ceasefire breaches have seen three shooting incidents in the provinces of Latakia (2) and Aleppo (1). Their Turkish colleagues did not see any violations," the ministry said.

Most cases of random mortar and small-arms fire were seen in the areas held by the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization (banned in Russia), the ministry said.

"All has been quiet in the de-escalation areas," it said.

A ceasefire agreement was signed with the town of Tell Anbar in the Aleppo province of the day. The number of populated localities engaged in the reconciliation process has thus grown to 2,337, the ministry said.
