LPR denies mobilization rumors

LUHANSK. Jan 24 (Interfax) - The administration of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) is not planning a general mobilization of the population, the LPR communications ministry told Interfax on Wednesday.

"The electronic mass media and social-networking sites are now disseminating information referring to an order issued by the acting head of the Luhansk People's Republic [Leonid Pasechnik] about additional mobilization on the territory of the republic," the ministry said. The report is false, it said.

This information "is disseminated by provocateurs for the purpose of causing panic among residents and undermining trust in the Luhansk People's Republic," the ministry said.
