All stable in Syria's de-escalation areas, 10 shooting incidents observed - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Jan 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian and Turkish military have seen ten ceasefire breaches in Syria in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said in an information bulletin on Thursday.

"Russian members of the joint Russian-Turkish commission investigating ceasefire breaches have seen four shooting incidents in the provinces of Aleppo (1) and Latakia (3). Their Turkish colleagues have recorded six violations in the provinces of Idlib (1), Damascus (3), and Daraa (2)," the ministry said.

Most cases of random small-arms and mortar fire were seen in the areas held by the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group (banned in Russia), the ministry said.

"All has been stable in the de-escalation areas," the ministry said.

A ceasefire agreement was signed with the town of Mubarakiyah in the Homs province over the day. The number of populated localities engaged in the reconciliation process has thus grown to 2,338.
