Belarus restricts access to opposition website Charter '97
MINSK. Jan 25 (Interfax) - The Belarusian Information Ministry has restricted user access to the website charter97.org for disseminating information prohibited by the Law on Mass Media, the ministry said on Thursday.
"On January 24, the Information Ministry [...] decided to restrict user access to the information website charter97.org," the ministry said in a statement posted on its official website.
"This decision was made due to the publication on the website of information whose dissemination is prohibited by Article 38 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus on Mass Media," the Information Ministry said.
Charter '97 is one of the most popular opposition news portals in Belarus.
