Lukoil drills first well at phase 2 of Filanovsky field in Caspian Sea

MOSCOW. Jan 31 (Interfax) - Lukoil has completed drilling the first well at phase 2 of the Filanovsky field in the Caspian Sea, the company said in a statement.

The production well is single bore horizontal with a depth of 3.5 kilometers. The horizontal section of the well is 1.2 kilometers. The initial well flow reached 2,400 tonnes of oil per day bringing daily oil production at the field up to 16,800 thousand tonnes.

The further implementation of the drilling program at phase 2 of the field's development will stabilize production at the designed plateau of 6 million tonnes per year.

The Filanovsky field is located in the Russian part of the Caspian Sea and was commissioned in 2016. Initial recoverable oil reserves are 129 million tonnes and 30 bcm of gas.
