Some 19,000 residents of Central Russia remain without power due to bad weather - Energy Ministry

TULA. Feb 4 (Interfax) - Power outages caused by bad weather are occurring in four regions of Central Russia, where some 19,000 people remain without power, the Russian Energy Ministry said on Sunday.

Power outages have occurred in the Vladimir, Moscow, Kaluga and Tula regions, the ministry said.

In the Vladimir region, 4,500 people remain without power. Ten brigades composed of 22 people and ten units of special equipment are involved in the repair work.

A total of 5,200 people remain without power in the Moscow region and some 5,000 remain without power in the Tula region.

Some 3,900 people remain without power in the Kaluga region. Twenty-six brigades composed of 55 people and 26 units of special equipment are involved in the repair work.

Repair work is being done and measures are being taken to organize reserve power supply to vital infrastructure facilities.

The situation will be under special control of the Energy Ministry until the repair work is fully completed.
