Saakashvili makes his own list of candidates to Ukraine's govt, to publish it at rally in 2 weeks
KYIV. Feb 4 (Interfax) - Mikheil Saakashvili, leader of the party Rukh Novykh Syl, promises to publish a list of candidates to top positions in the Ukrainian administration at the next rally on February 18.
"We will present the new government and dozens of presidential candidates before February 18. Bring another person to the next march. We have no money to gather a [full] square, and therefore I am asking each of you to bring one person," Saakashvili said at a rally in the European Square in central Kyiv on Sunday.
He said a list of deputies and their addresses, "photos of politicians and home addresses of people who should vote for the resignation of [Ukraine's President Petro] Poroshenko" will be published on the website of his political force.
"And we will visit them, we will say what we want from them - to remove these politicians from power and then leave also," Saakashvili said.
After the rally its participants called on President Poroshenko to come to the Independence Square on February 18 and announce his resignation.
On that day, similar rallies would be organized not only in Kyiv but also in regional centers across Ukraine, Saakashvili said. He urged various strata of Ukrainian society to get active and join the fight for the transfer of power and a better life.
After Saakashvili's speech the rally was declared over and its participants began leaving the square.
Meanwhile, near the beginning of Volodymyr Hill and the National Philharmonic building and at the beginning of Hrushevsky Street, someone threw flares and smoke bombs which were soon extinguished during the otherwise peaceful event.
