New govt to restore economic appeal of Dagestan - PM
MAKHACHKALA. Feb 7 (Interfax) - Dagestan's Prime Minister Artyom Zdunov intends to restore the republic's image as a safe region for doing business.
"We will work on drawing private investment. That requires the formation of a unified information window. We will work on restoring the image of Dagestan as a reliable and safe region for doing business comfortably," Zdunov said at a session of the republic's People's Assembly on Wednesday.
Port infrastructure and borders with several foreign states create "unique but currently unused potential for business development," he said.
"Other regions just dream of such geographical advantages," Zdunov said.
Zdunov was appointed prime minister of Dagestan by a decree issued by the republic's acting head, Vladimir Vasilyev, after his candidacy was approved by the People's Assembly.
