U.S. citizen dies on board Air China aircraft before emergency landing at Sheremetyevo

MOSCOW. Feb 10 (Interfax) - An elderly American of Chinese origin has died on board an Airbus before it made an emergency landing at Sheremetyevo airport, a source in emergency services told Interfax on Saturday.

"The commander of the Air China A-330 flight from Beijing to Geneva reported, while flying over Moscow, that an elderly passenger had suffered a [heart] attack, and requested an emergency landing at Sheremetyevo. When it landed the plane was met by intensive care paramedics," the source said.

The paramedics boarded the plane shortly after it landed and tried to resuscitate the man. "However, the resuscitation procedure failed to produce the result, and the American citizen, born 1940, who had been returning from his historical homeland, died," the source said.
