Ukrainian citizen detained in Simferopol airport for collecting state secrets - FSB public relations center

MOSCOW. Feb 12 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has reported the detention in Simferopol of a citizen of Ukraine who collected and provided to the Ukrainian security services information about the activities of the Russian National Guard and FSB.

"Ukrainian citizen Kostiantyn Davydenko was detained in Simferopol by FSB officials on February 11. He purposefully collected and provided to the Ukrainian security services information about the activities of units of the FSB and the Russian National Guard and information about the FSB which constitutes a state secret," the FSB's press service told Interfax on Monday.

"A data leak abroad may have hurt the security of the state," the press service said.

The FSB has opened a criminal investigation into espionage.
