Russian poultry output up 10.4% in Jan - Rosstat
MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Russia's poultry industry boosted output 10.4% year-on-year in January 2018 to 415,000 tonnes, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
Production of fresh and chilled meat (beef, pork, mutton, goat, horse and deer) increased 12.4% to 189,000 tonnes.
Production of processed meat increased 0.5% to 241,000 tonnes while production of sausage goods fell 2% to 164,000 tonnes and preserved meats - down 7.2% to 33,100 standard cans.
Production of processed and canned fish, shell fish and mollusks fell 2.6% to 327,000 tonnes. .
Unrefined sunflower oil production fell 4.4% to 428,000 tonnes and margarine output declined 3.3% to 35,300 tonnes.
Production of butter increased 5.5% to 19,200 tonnes and cheese - up 14% to 36,300 tonnes.
Russia boosted output of preserved vegetables and mushrooms by 35.7% to 41,600 standard cans.
Production of groats rose 0.6% to 108,000 tonnes and confectionary goods were up 7.4% to 269,000 tonnes.
