Some 9,000 extremist sites closed in Kazakhstan in 2017
ASTANA. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Some 9,000 websites with illegal content were closed in Kazakhstan in 2017, Kazakh Information and Communications Minister Dauren Abayev said.
"The operation of 9,000 sites promoting religious terrorism, suicide and violence was terminated last year. A total of 230,000 such posts were deleted from social networking sites," Abayev said at a ministry board meeting in Astana on Friday.
