Azeri president orders $88 mln earmarks for construction of new road to Russian border

BAKU. Feb 19 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has ordered the State Agency of Automobile Roads to allocate 150 million manats ($88.2 million) for the construction of a new highway between Z. Taghiyev village (40 kilometers from Baku) and the border with Russia.

The relevant order signed by the president on Monday has been published on his official website.

The new road will be part of the Baku-Quba-border superhighway and International North-South Transport Corridor, as well as boost tourism.
