Miratorg launches online store
MOSCOW. Feb 20 (Interfax) - Miratorg Agribusiness Holding, one of the largest producers of meat in Russia, has launched a pilot e-commerce platform, the company's press service said in a statement.
"The online store will supplement existing retail channels and increase the accessibility of the whole Miratorg product line for consumers," the statement said. "In the pilot stage, it will allow processing and delivery of orders within the Moscow Automobile Ring Road (MKAD)," it said. The company's own distribution capacities and a fleet of specially purchased vehicles will be used to implement the project.
"Developing our own retail is an absolute priority for Miratorg. Based on the results of the pilot project, a decision will be made on expanding the geographical range of the online store's deliveries outside of Moscow," the statement said.
Miratorg, established in 1995, is one of Russia's largest meat producers and operators on the country's food product market. The companies in the holding provide full-cycle production "from the field to the counter" in 15 Russian regions. The holding includes grain companies, fodder plants, elevators, 27 major automated hog farms and meat processing companies. Miratorg is owned by Victor and Alexander Linnik.

In the previous year, Miratorg increased pork production 1.5% to 415,000 tonnes in live weight, the company said. The Holding also produces beef, poultry and processed meat products.
