Yerevan invalidates Armenian-Turkish protocols on establishment of diplomatic relations
YEREVAN. March 1 (Interfax) - Armenia has officially declared invalid Armenian-Turkish protocols on the establishment of diplomatic relations and on the development of relations.
A corresponding decision was made at the Thursday session of the National Security Council chaired by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.
"Considering our agreement on the matter I will sign a decree suspending the procedure of signing these protocols immediately after the session. I am asking the head of the Foreign Ministry to notify Turkey about this decisions after which not a single obligation in the framework of these agreements will have any legal significance for us," the Armenian president said.
He said that the presidents of Russia, France, the United States and Switzerland, the head of the Council of the European Union and secretary general of the Council of Europe were notified of Armenia's decision.
