Gazprom starts spring with new export record of 710.2 mln cubic meters

MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - Gazprom set a new all-time daily export record on March 1 of 710.2 million cubic meters, the company said.

"We have continued our run of records to nine days in a row and have passed the milestone of 700,000 million cubic meters of daily exports for the first time in our history. The results are more than convincing. They attest to Gazprom's colossal and unique capabilities, which our consumers in Europe also have," Gazprom Chairman Alexei Miller was cited as saying by the press service.

"We are a responsible supplier. We are again doing what only Gazprom can do on the European market: quickly reacting to a sharp spike in demand and providing consumers with the necessary volumes of gas," the Gazprom chief said.

"We are witnessing record daily gas exports to Europe. Around 718 million cubic meters will be shipped today. This is a record," Miller said while speaking before graduates of St. Petersburg State University.

"Only Russia, only Gazprom can provide these kinds of reserves, supplying Europe with all it needs in this coldest winter season," he said.

"Russian gas has the highest share of the European market, 34.7% of the entire European gas market is served by our gas. Demand for Russian gas in Europe is growing and will continue growing. And the daily demand figure is confirmation of that," the Gazprom head said.

Exports of Russian gas to China via pipeline will begin on December 20, 2019, he said in addition. "And we will enter the most dynamic gas market - China," Miller said.
